The work visualizes the severance of a person's memory and spirit who is under the pressure from society and relationships.
There are 250 trillion blood vessels and a heart in the human body. The vasculature works with the heart to supply the body with oxygen and nutrients and to remove waste products. The red threads are the capillaries under the skin. The capillaries and vasculature work with the heart to supply the body with oxygen and nutrients and to remove waste products. The visualized heart and the blood vessels are the expressions of the soul detached from the body. Her life is withering away. This allows her to escape from the real world which makes her suffer, while the respirator machine tries to pull her back to reality.
Time stands still at this moment.
It was inspired by anesthesia awareness from the ablation procedure.
The anesthesia didn’t put me to sleep. Lying on the operating bed, I heard Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata and whispers among the surgeons. This feeling of being in the middle of reality and illusion made me create this group of works. The spark in my life was fading away. It allowed me to escape from the real world, while the respirator machine tried to pull me back to reality. Time stood still at this moment.
